Bird's eye view of the Bank of England
by GANDY, Joseph Michael, Pen and watercolour, 725 x 1290 mm
A pupil of Sir John Soane, Gandy created this vision from the reality of his teacher’s work, anticipating - wholly without suspecting it - the tragic fate of the Bank buildings when they were almost completely torn down in the 1920s.
