This canvas presents a still-life with a ‘brioche’ bread, oysters, a flute-glass, grapes and pears, a drapery and game, all on a stone plinth. It is dominated by the large ‘brioche’ bread, placed in the upper left, with a flute-glass containing red wine behind it.
It is signed with monogram ‘NH’, lower right on the drapery. In keeping with realism, the artist’s signature is ‘embroidered’ on the rim of the drapery.
