Fran�ois Ignace Mangin built the Schloss Monaise near Trier for the Counts of Walderburg between 1779 and 1786. He demonstrated here his skill in blending the latest French and English architectural ideas to create a style wholly his own. The building follows the tradition of the Trianon in the palace park at Versailles and exploited English Palladian influences and designs.
