Portraits of Three Avogadri
by UBERTI, Pietro, Oil on canvas
In the Venetian Republic, the Maggior Consiglio elected a magistracy, made up of three members (the “Avogadri”). The walls of the Sala dello Scrigno in the Palazzo Ducale are decorated with portraits of Avogadri and Censors, notable among which are the Portrait of Three Avogadri by Pietro Uberti.
