Portrait of Anton Franz de Paula, Count Lamberg-Sprinzenstein

Count Lamberg-Sprinzenstein (1740-1822) was an important patron and prominent collector who bequeathed his picture gallery to the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts. His collection of antique vases, compiled during his time as an envoi in Naples, is now preserved in the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna.

The portrait, painted by the Austrian portrait painter Christian Kollonitsch, shows the count at the age of thirty. The decorative frame was donated by Prince Metternich in 1834.
