ZUCCHI, Lorenzo
(b. 1704 Venezia, d. 1779 Dresden)
Italian engraver, part of a family of artists. He was the son of Andrea Zucchi, brother of Francesco Zucchi. He was instructed in design and engraving by his father.
In 1726, he went to Dresden with his father, where he was active until his death. He was appointed court engraver to the Elector of Saxony in 1738, and was employed to execute several plates for the collection of the Dresden Gallery. In 1764 he became professor of engraving at the Academy.
